“Lorin Latarro can do wonders with baked goods. Currently, her choreography is represented in the Broadway musical Waitress, which tells the story of a small-town woman pinning her hopes on a pie contest. Earlier this week, her work premiered in Verdi’s La Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera.
Later this winter, she’ll bring her moves Off-Broadway to new productions of Merrily We Roll Along as well as the new Tom Kitt musical, Superhero. She has also breathed motion into Huey Lewis’ music with World Premiere of The Heart of Rock and Roll in San Diego.
In the midst of it all, Ms. Latarro managed to take a few minutes to chat with The Broadway Blog about her projects and the art of dance.”

“A reading of #DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment, which had a three-year run at Chicago’s Up Comedy Theatre, is presented in Manhattan October 4. Lorin Latarro directs a cast that includes Andrew Chapelle, Brian Gonzales, Michael Hartney, Andy Lucien, J. Elaine Marcos, Marissa Rosen, and Megan Sikora.
Based on a true story, #DateMe concerns Robyn Lynne Norris (the show’s creator and writer), who is unlucky in love but determined to understand it better, so she logs on to OkCupid. Creating 38 ‘undateable’ profiles as an interactive scientific investigation into online dating, Robyn unwittingly sets in motion the social experiment of our generation.”
“The show is bright and sparkling with a sense of optimism and never straying too far from the 80’s pop influence of its music. With music this beloved this show could easily be a karaoke musical comedy, but Brian Usifer’s arrangements of the many hit songs help transform the songs into ballads, a capella numbers, and each are honed to fit in each spot in the story. The animated choreography by Lorin Latarro is creative, and seems to channel the vivacity of the music.”
“The first thing you notice about dancer and choreographer Lorin Latarro are her passion and enthusiasm for her subject of storytelling through dance. Currently in town working at The Old Globe as the choreographer for the brand new musical THE HEART OF ROCK & ROLL featuring songs by Huey Lewis and the News.”
